Fertility Fact Friday

It has been awhile since I have posted a ‘Fertility Fact Friday’, huh?  Lately, I’ve been keeping watch on RESOLVE  the United States leading National Infertility Association.  With Infertility Awareness week coming up April 24 – 30, 2011 and National Advocacy Day in Washington D.C. on May 5, 2011 there has been a lot of press on various legislation within some of the 50 states.

Of course, Dancing Upon Barren Land is a Christian online ministry offering help for those challenged by infertility and is not here to promote any political agenda.  However, I believe we should be aware of the happenings taking place within our legislative halls, especially when it involves fertility issues.

If you will click the link below you’ll see states that have legislation in the making regarding either fertility issues or embryos. There are many topics at hand, but the most prevalent one is the question: “Should microscopic embryos be given constitutional rights, regarded  as the “Personhood Amendment”? If passed, this may affect your current frozen embryos and the future of Reproductive Endocrinologist and Fertility Clinics.

I am not suggesting you be for or against any legislation.  Yet, if we are privileged to live here in the U.S. and have been given the right to vote and/or to make our voice heard by writing your congressman or representative, then I believe we should.  I do suggest we pray and ask God for His guidance first.
