When Your Doctor Disappoints You

prayer

How many of you have been disappointed by your fertility specialist? As if the infertility journey isn’t hard enough, right? I thought I’d post a prayer from another book I found most helpful during my infertility journey, Longing for a Child, by Katthe Wunnenberg. This is a wonderful book, filled with stories and helpful prayers. I encourage you to purchase it.

I, unfortunately, have experienced the disappointment from my doctor. At one point her pressure to do advanced treatments and our decision to ‘pray about it’ felt like we were shamed. The turning point came when she started doubting my husband’s understanding of my biological clock.

I thought to myself  ‘When you start talking about my man you are a messin’ with the wrong person’. (said like any other southern girl would say) and ‘I’m paying $400 out of pocket for this?  I don’t think so!’.

Needless to say, through my husband  a divine encounter with a clerk at a bank set us on a course of a new, kind and helpful doctor.

Be encouraged today. God knows your next step. You may have been disappointed by your doctor and are extremely disappointed by all this infertility stuff. I get it. I understand. But I’m here to write you and say, God will turn your disappointments into an appointment with Him. He’s done this over and over for me and I know He’ll do it for you… because He loves you, and He loves me too. {smiles}

Have a great week, love ya’ll,

Lesli

When Your Doctor Disappoints You
by Kathe Wunnenberg

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:5-6

I urge, then, first of all, that request, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—-for kings and all those in authority [including your doctor]… Timothy 2:1-2a

Personalize these verses: Talk directly to God. Replace “you” and “your” with “me” and “my”.

Proclaim theses verses: Read the Scripture slowly aloud several times.

Ponder these verses: Reflect on them. Which words, phrases, or images encourage you most today? Wait. Listen. Allow God to speak to your heart. Record your thoughts.
