Prayer for the Holiday Season
Prayer for the Holiday Season
“Almighty God, it seems as if every time I turn around I am faced with a celebration involving children. In my heart, I don’t want to feel emotional or to be jealous, angry, or envious, but it is hard to face the theses days. You said in Your Word you would go before me and be with me. You have not forsaken me and You are with me at each celebration. I ask for my focus to be outward towards others rather than inward toward myself. Most of all, I pray I can focus on the gift You have given to me, Your Son, Jesus Christ in this season. As I feel compelled to go to extended family or friends’ homes, I ask You dissolve away my heaviness and and strengthen me according to Your Word. As I celebrate You, may my heart swell with gratefulness, God, for all you’ve done for me, for all you are doing and who You are in my life.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
