Morning Prayer – Abortion
Morning Prayer
_______
Recovery from Abortion
from Dancing Upon Barren Land ~ Prayer, Scripture Reflection, and Hope for Infertility Book
The abortion prayer was added to the book due to the fact many women feel their infertility is a result of punishment from an issue in their past. Nothing could be further from the truth. I’m posting it today for Morning Prayer. If you or someone you know are feeling punished and consumed with condemning thoughts, I pray you’ll find freedom through this prayer.
Love y’all,
Lesli
____________
Father God, You are the Giver of life and say in your Word, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” My heart is broken and I am emotionally numb. I made the choice to have an abortion and to remove that life from me. I was overwhelmed, and made the choice out of convenience as a quick solution to, what I thought, was my problem. I am grieved by what I have done. I am more than sorry. I ask for your forgiveness. You say in your Word, “You forgive all my sins…and crown me with loving kindness and compassion.” I receive your forgiveness and I thank you for your love for me. My action has brought condemning, haunting thoughts I cannot escape. I thank You, “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” I ask You for freedom from condemning, shameful thoughts and healing for my emotional wounds. You said, “Choose life that you and your children may live.” From this moment forward, “I choose life!” and I ask for another gift of a child to one day be “as a happy mother of children.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
