Monday Morning Prayer

Monday Morning Prayer

Instead of the usual prayer and scripture reflection for Monday Morning Prayer I thought I’d do something a little different.  I wanted to share in today’s post,  “What is Prayer?”.  For some of us our prayer time is based on a set of rules on how to pray rather on our relationship to God, our Heavenly Father. I hope this little tidbit will bring a Biblical understanding of prayer.

As always, I’m praying for you. If you have a specific prayer request, please email me through our Contact page. Thanks.

What is Prayer?

Talking to God from your heart, outwardly or silently, just like you are talking to a friend.

The prayers on the Prayer Page of the website may reflect how you feel from time to time walking on the barren road. There is a prayer for each topic and the scriptures supporting that prayer. You can recite it, or read the scriptures and make a personal prayer of your own. However you choose to do it, remember prayer is not a magical formula to get what you want, it’s simply a way of communicating with God. Praying to God, talking to Him, pouring out your soul is the beginning of hope and healing from the grief of infertility.

There are four essential elements for each of the following prayers:

  • Praise
  • Thanksgiving
  • Praying the Word of God, the Bible
  • Asking in Jesus’ name

The Bible teaches us that God’s word is alive, active, and powerful when we pray His Word we are praying His perfect, divine will. Praise and thanksgiving in prayer expresses our heart’s adoration and love for Him.

When we ask in Jesus’ name, we glorify Him and we receive from Him that our joy may be full.
Psalm 100:4, Hebrews 13:8, I John 5:14-15
