Fertility Fact Friday
Soy

“One study, at King’s College London, found that a compound in soy called genistein causes a chemical reaction in sperm as they swim in the female reproductive tract, sabotaging their ability to fertilize the egg. Until more research either confirms or contradicts these findings, it would be smart for men and women hoping to become parents soon to avoid taking supplements of soy protein (read the labels of protein drinks or shakes). And if you regularly consume foods like tofu, soy beans, and soy milk, play it safe. Especially for women around the time of ovulation.
