Monday Morning Prayer

Stopping fertility treatments is, in my opinion, one of the hardest things to do. One often asks the questions, “If I stop fertility treatments how will I ever have a baby?” or “If I stop treatments, then what do I do next?” Below is a new prayer I’ve written, a Biblical prayer in making the decision to stop fertility treatments. This prayer and others will be in my soon-to-be released book, Dancing Upon Barren Land – Prayer and Scripture Reflections for Infertility.

What about you? Have you made the decision to discontinue fertility treatments? Why did you stop? How did it make you feel? Has the decision affected your relationship with Christ?  If you’d like, share your story.

A reminder: If you live the Houston, Texas metroplex feel free to join us for one of our support group meetings over the next two weeks!

Love y’all!

 STOPPING FERTILITY TREATMENTS

“Heavenly Father, as a couple we feel we should discontinue fertility treatments due to or because of __________________. We believe when we married, You placed the desire in our hearts to have a family. We purpose to seek and delight in You and thank You as You bring about the desires of our heart. Stopping treatment is hard and feels like failure and feels as if there is no plan or next step in sight, but we ask You to fill us with confident and complete trust in You. We believe You’ll bless and order our steps completing what You began in us–the desire for children.
In Jesus name, Amen.”

I love that you wrote about this. I love this prayer.

We haven’t been to the RE since December. Mostly because we were waiting for that study to open up – that eventually fell through. At first when we were forced to wait, I was anxious and frustrated. Now, ten months later, I’m thankful that we were put in a position that we had to stop treatments…it’s built my faith and hope. It’s taught me to have peace in the waiting. As far as when we start up again…Not sure. At this point I don’t feel the need – the push – to go back to the doctor. We’ll see as time passes.
